Charlie "Chuck" Kress - We lost another Boy of Summer

Charlie Kress died on March 4, 2014.  He was 92.  Although he was with the Brooklyn club only briefly during his short MLB career, this WWII Army veteran gave the sport 32 years and will forever be a Dodger!  RIP Mr. Kress.

Kress played 13 games for the 1954 Brooklyn Dodgers, getting 1 hit in 12 at bats.  It appears he was mainly a pinch hitter, playing only 1 game at 1B for the club in those 13 games.

Sadly, very few Brooklyn Dodgers players are alive today, as the team left Brooklyn for LA 47 years ago and their numbers dwindle slowly each year.
