Globe launches Free GoWiFi, AMBER in City of Antipolo

As the country intensifies efforts to address the global health crisis, Globe announces its partnership with Antipolo to provide free GoWiFi and Automated Mobile Blaster (AMBER) services to the local government and select medical facilities.

Globe President & CEO, Ernest L. Cu together with Antipolo City Mayor, Hon. Andeng Ynares do the ceremonial button pushing to officially launch Antipolo as Globe's newest GoWiFi Zone.

This is Globe's response to the Antipolo LGU's request to provide its personnel, and more importantly, its residents, with safe, secure, and reliable WiFi connectivity to perform daily tasks and stay connected and informed about the LGU's activities and movements.

Besides the Antipolo City Hall, nearby residents of Antipolo can take advantage of free GoWiFi services at the following key hospitals: Rizal Provincial Hospital Padilla, Rizal Provincial Hospital Dalig, and Rizal Provincial Mambugan.

With nearby GoWiFi hotspots, Globe enables Antipolo's health care service to be empowered through telemedicine, facilitating pandemic response and coordination, as well as maintaining constant communication with their families and loved ones to ease their concerns.

Globe also provided AMBER to Antipolo as a valuable tool for communicating with residents regarding community announcements such as updates on the city's ongoing vaccination program.

Mayor of Antipolo City, Hon. Andrea Ynares, expressed gratitude for Globe's partnership with the telco, stating that she shares Globe's mission of treating people fairly to create a Globe of Good.

"We are thankful to Globe for powering Antipolo with these life-enabling tools and innovations so our residents are able to live and even thrive in the new normal. With GoWiFi and AMBER in place, Globe is helping Antipolenyos stay online, connected, and informed, mula sa mga estudyante at mga guro, mga namamasada, manggagawa, at iba pa," Ynares said in a mix of English and Filipino.

GoWiFi is Globe's largest free WiFi service in the country, with the goal of improving customers' connectivity. GoWiFi is now available in over 3,100 locations nationwide, including select supermarkets, malls, hospitals, local government units (LGUs), coffee shops, convenience stores, public transportation terminals, and restaurants. It is available to users regardless of their network provider.

Filipinos can connect to Globe GoWiFi hotspots conveniently located in government offices such as the Land Transportation Office (LTO), the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), and the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA). Apart from Antipolo, Globe has formed partnerships with the local governments of Quezon City, Pasig, Makati, Iloilo, Rizal, Manila, and San Juan.

These partnerships demonstrate Globe's commitment to working hard to improve and connect the lives of more Filipinos through its products and services. The partnership's initiatives are part of a larger mission to ensure that all Filipinos have equitable access to the internet.

Cu also mentioned that Globe has extended approximately 25,000 fiber lines to connect Antipolo homes, which is critical during this time of increased connectivity demand.

How to connect to Globe's free GoWiFi in Antipolo City?


Residents of Antipolo can connect to Globe GoWiFi by first opening the WiFi settings on a Wi-Fi-enabled device and then connecting to the SSID "@FreeGoWiFi" or "@<establishment>_FreeGoWiFi." They must then register their mobile number and wait for an SMS verification selecting a WiFi offer. They can then confirm and begin Internet browsing.
